Shelly Beach - Shocking shocking dive. Baking hot day in Sydney and for some reason the ocean temperature had dropped from 23 last week to 16 this week. On top of that the visibility was about 2 meters. To make matters worse the place was jam packed full of

Shelley Beach - Saw a pair of Boar Fish - very exciting. Got turned around after exploring with camera, had to surface to get compas bearing. Worth doing some research first as reef starts in a NW direction and curls around to NE.

Great marine life - Tried to find seadragons but no luck. The main highlight was an old giant cuttle fish, over 50cm. There were some large Eastern blue gropers too. One of them seemed larger than 1 metre.

First certified dive - Great dive, after all it was my first dive after gaining the certification. The main highlight was the presence of sharks. The instructor continuously told us to remain still at the bottom, even though I think I saw a shark once only.

Site expectations... - This is a good relaxed dive site for most conditions. Almost any level of diver can dive here and it can be a great night dive. I have dived here on numerous occasions and have enjoyed each dive. Even more I enjoy going out to dinner at the restaurant afterwards. This, I believe, is an important part of night diving with friends. so get in and enjoy...get out and enjoy!!!

Good beginner site - Very easy shore access. Calm conditions especially when southerlys are blowing. Large population of Port Jackson sharks around June-August. Heaps of rays, cuttlefish, and fish schools.
